POTTERY LAMPWORK GLASS WEAVING

Check out our new ceramic leaves on our pottery page!

We have enjoyed several demonstrations, hiking trips and just visits to the Great Smoky Mountains in the last months. We are looking forward to another year of Gallery Gatherings, demonstrations and visiting. Hiking is at the top of my list - Dennis, not so much. This year I spent 2 nights at the LeConte Lodge in May and had such a fantastic time. Chris, Allyson and the crew always make everyone feel at home and are great at getting their work done and still have time to talk to us from "down below". Hope we get to go back again next year!

Cliff Dwellers' Gallery Heritage Days
September 2 - 5, 2011.
Dennis and Sherry on the front porch at the Gallery. Dennis makes too big a mess to be allowed inside when he is throwing and trimming, so he has to be on the porch and I keep him company. The temperature in the Great Smoky Mountains Friday, Saturday and Sunday were in the mid to upper 90s - hence the fan On Saturday, we were joined on the porch by Rachel and Jon of the Pea Pickin' Hearts. Their music is fantastic and a lot of fun to be with. They kept us singing along and motivated to keep working through the heat. In case you are wondering, Dennis is trimming a pot he threw earlier and I am threading the loom...I usually face the other way when weaving!
Pat, Theresa and Miss Bette plot how to have room for the food and people who are to join us this weekend We took the extra step of taking our tent with us this weekend and were very glad of it. The sun makes the porch even hotter after 2:00 when the sun starts shinning on our chosen area. The tent along with the fan made it possible for us to stay and entertain the visitors all day!
We looked very festive with the tent and the balloons - We at least drew attention! Even the sign at the road was dressed up for the occasion
Some of our work both current and our favorites.

We have been married since 1979 and have always lived in the Dayton area. We are familiar with each other's craft and are able help each other when it is needed. We also help in deciding colors, shape, form and texture for different projects. The Studios and materials are quickly taking over the house. Soon we will have to add on or build a studio building in the back yard.

Currently our work can be seen year 'round at The Cliff Dwellers Gallery on Glades Road in Gatlinburg, TN (Take Rt. 321 east out of Gatlinburg. Turn left at the stoplight at Family Dollar/Subway, then approximately 1.5 miles, on the right, next to Church Mouse). We participate in at least 3 demonstration opportunities each year at Cliff Dwellers in late April, late August and mid October.

Also in Gatlinburg, we display at the new Shops at Carousel Gardens downtown at Traffic Light #3 where St Rt 441 intersects with St Rt 321.

This year we began working with some shops closer to home. The Gift Shoppe on Main in Brookville, IN and Your Homely Sister located in the German Village, Hamilton, OH. Both shops carry a limited number of our products.
