In the last two years, I have been convinced to venture into the world of weaving fabric for garments. Up to that point, I was reluctant to allow anyone to take scissors to my labor intensive fabric. I have done enough sewing to know there is a quantity of waste in every sewing project and I couldn't bear to see the handwovens end up in the trash.

I am not a seamstress - I can sew a straight line; barely and I am not a fashion person, living as I do in t-shirts and blue jeans. So I have partnered with several designers/seamstresses in the area to do the fashion thing and the sewing.

Here are some pictures of the garments made using my handwoven fabric and designed by several local seanstresses.

This outfit consists of a skirt with an elastic waist, a shawl/wrap and a small clutch purse. The skirt and purse are lined. The fabric is made from a wool/acrylic blend and should be dry cleaned.

The outfit was designed and sewn by Joni Head of Columbus, OH.

This other is a hooded vest with unique closures. It is fully lined and must be dry cleaned. It comes with a small shoulder bag that also fully lined. The fabric is an acrylic/mohair/wool blend woven in a point twill pattern.

The vest and bag were designed and sewn by Joni Head of Columbus, OH
This fabric is a acrylic/mohair/wook blend woven using a 8 harness pinwheel pattern. When wet finished, it "felts"slightly making the finished fabric feel like a sweater.

This silk/wool blend fabric has been used to make a light weight shawl-like garment. Perfect for these cool fall nights or where the air conditioning can get to be a little much. Designed by Lora Van Lear.
This fabric is a rayon blend woven using a 8 harness honeycomb pattern. A very fine fabric has been made into a "swing jacket".
